A CHARTER ORDINANCE EXEMPTING THE CITY OF LANE, KANSAS, FROM A PORTION OF K.S.A. 15-209, AND PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF A CITY CLERK OR CITY TREASURER WHO MAY RESIDE OUTSIDE THE CITY LIMITS AND NOT BE A QUALIFIED ELECTOR OF SAID CITY.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNORING BODY OF THE CITY OF LANE, KANSAS:

SECTION l. The City of Lane, Kansas, by the power vested in it under Article 12, Section 5 of the Constitution of the State of Kansas, hereby elects to exempt itself and make inapplicable to it, the provisions of K.S.A. 15-209 insofar as said statue may require that a City Clerk or City Treasurer be a qualified elector of said City.

SECTION 2. The City Clerk or City Treasurer of the City of Lane need not be a qualified elector of the City of Lane, Kansas, and may reside outside the city limits of Lane. He shall, however, be a resident of the State of Kansas.
